In buying a home without using a buyer’s agent, I came across Julie (as listing agent) several times before ultimately buying one of the homes she listed. Julie advocates for her clients and is very tough to negotiate against. Many brokers make subtle mistakes implying, for instance, that the seller is rushed to sell and will accept low bids. Not Julie. She gets every dollar for her clients and yet also manages to keep the conversations cordial and efficient for all parties. I believe the reason she is so fantastic is she treats her job like a calling. It really matters to her that she helps people find the home that is right for them or sell their existing home in order to do so. It’s so much more than a “transaction” to her. In fact, I have stayed in touch with her post-closing and (as a first time homebuyer) have benefited from her administrative and remodeling tips. I didn’t hire a buyer’s agent because I’ve felt that with all the online resources at our disposal, it’s unnecessary and sometimes counterproductive. I made a mistake at least with respect to Julie. So, I recommend her to all family, friends and colleagues.
